The short version

Optional analytics
With permission, the site loads Google Analytics to understand aggregate use, such as visited pages, broad device information, and engagement patterns. Analytics is not used for advertising, profiling, or deciding what any individual may access. IP anonymization is requested in the site configuration. Choosing “Essential only” leaves analytics unloaded.
To change a prior choice, clear this site’s local storage and reload the page. A dedicated preference control will be added as the platform evolves.
Essential local storage
The browser may store quiz and Year Quest progress, timeline filters, saved sources, and the analytics choice. These records remain on the device and support requested features. They can be removed at any time through browser site-data controls. The site does not require an account.
Submissions and email
Source, correction, and landmark submissions open the visitor’s email application or a GitHub issue. Email contents are received by the editor and used to review and, where possible, answer the proposal. GitHub issues are public: contributors should never include confidential information, private contact details, information about minors, or material they do not have permission to share.
Published entries credit verifiable sources rather than private correspondence unless a contributor expressly asks to be named and attribution is appropriate. Submission does not guarantee publication.
Your choices
Visitors may decline analytics, clear locally stored progress, use the site without an account, and request deletion of non-public personal correspondence that remains under the project’s control. Send a specific request to hello@usmuslim.org. Legal or archival obligations may sometimes require limited retention; any such exception will be explained.
Accessibility
The project aims for WCAG 2.2 AA: keyboard operation, visible focus, reduced-motion support, semantic structure, readable contrast, and equivalent text for visual evidence. Accessibility is an ongoing practice, not a one-time claim. Report a barrier with the page, device, browser, and assistive technology used; a response or remediation update will be provided where possible.
Governance and review
Threads of Connection is independent and nonpartisan. Saeb Ahsan is currently its sole editor; there is not yet a standing advisory board or formal peer-review process. The project publishes this limitation rather than implying institutional review it has not received. Expert review, accessibility testing, and durable public governance remain active priorities.
