Ahmed Zewail wins the Nobel Prize in Chemistry

Egyptian-American chemist Ahmed Zewail wins the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for femtochemistry: the first Arab and first Egyptian to win a science Nobel.

Based at Caltech, he was later named among the first U.S. Science Envoys under President Obama.
