Treaty of Tripoli ratified

The Senate unanimously ratifies a treaty stating the U.S. has 'no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility of Musselmen.'

Signed by President John Adams. Article 11's language appears in the ratified English translation but not the surviving Arabic text, a discrepancy historians still discuss.
